Watch out for the flu.

Influenza is a disease that causes symptoms such as fever and a sore throat when the influenza virus spreads in the body. Infection can cause sudden fever, cough, a sore throat, fatigue, a runny nose, nasal congestion and headaches.

Most people recover from the flu in a few days having experienced only a mild illness. However, it is important to note that some people may become seriously ill. In particular, people with pre-existing conditions such as diabetes or asthma, pregnant women, infants, and the elderly are more likely than other people to become seriously ill.

A multilingual guide on influenza can be found on the City of Yokohama website.
